Constant Velocity Joints are used on mainly front wheel drive vehicles and on some rear wheel drive vehicles. CV Joints allow your vehicle to steer and go over bumps, they connect your driveline to the wheels. CV joints need to be kept full of grease to make them last. The CV boot keeps the grease around the CV Joint and keeps the CV Joint lubricated. The CV boots are highly prone to perishing and splitting and require replacing periodically. The symptoms of a worn CV Joint include loud “clicking” sound when turning your vehicle steering mainly hard lock.
Also known as a timing belt most vehicles on the road today have one. Cam belts keep the internal components of your engine in a synchronized order. Most Cam belts need to be replaced every 100,000 km’s and the cost of replacing it when it’s due is often less than 10% of a repair as a result of not doing it.
